What is the SCHROTH method and what do exercises for kyphosis and scoliosis look like?
The SCHROTH method that we apply at the Beofizio Center originates from Germany and was founded in the twenties of the last century by Katarina Schroth, a woman who successfully cured her scoliosis by developing breathing and exercise techniques.
Today, these exercises represent the most complete method of treating scoliosis and kyphosis, which includes all aspects of spinal curvature. We adapt this system of exercises completely to you, taking into account the degree and shape of the curvature of the spinal column.
The goal is derotation, straightening and stabilization of the spinal column, thereby stopping the progression of deformity and further curvature of the spinal column. In addition, pain will be alleviated and eliminated, the vital capacity of the lungs will become stronger, and the posture of the body will also improve.
The procedure itself is reduced to the application of exercises under the supervision of our specialized therapist.
Dynamic exercises for scoliosis and kyphosis are supplemented with breathing exercises, with an emphasis on one lung, that is, on the concave, curved side of the chest. Since the curvature has become the natural position of your spine, we teach you how to be aware of your posture and correct it.
Exercises for kyphosis and scoliosis should be performed daily. At least 3 visits per week are required. While the other days you do them at home. Each appointment lasts 1 hour, and the length of application of the SCHROTH method depends on the degree of deformity.
